Animal World and Butterfly House is home to a variety of small animals, tropical birds, free flying butterflies and insects.

Smithills Open Farm, Bolton is within the Ground of Smithills Country Park

Visitors can feed lambs, stroke calves or ride on donkeys at this open farm.

Staff encourage a hands-on approach and visitors can see and touch a wide variety of traditional farm animals as well as more exotic llamas, peacocks and snakes.

There are toy tractors and trailers for the children to play on as well as a bouncy castle and other playground equipment. The adventure walk through the nature trail, owl talks and milk parlour all add to the experience which can be enjoyed in all weathers
