Visitor Attractions in Barnsley
Here at Cannon Hall Farm, there are animals in abundance and always something new and exciting around the next corner. Baby animals are born every week. In spring lambs are born everyday and with 250 ewes to lamb we are hoping for around 500 lambs this year. A bag of animal feed available for a small fee guarantees a warm welcome.
Elsecar Heritage Centre is an Antique, History and Craft Centre offering something for everyone. Set in the attractive conservation village of Elsecar, the Heritage Centre is located within the former ironworks and colliery workshops of the Earl Fitzwilliam. Restored buildings now house an antique centre, individual craft workshops and exhibitions of Elsecar's past.
The village of Wentworth and the surrounding countryside, much of which is still owned by Fitzwilliam Estates and the Fitzwilliam family, has consequently has been left largely unspoiled. There is a lovely church, an old ruined one, two pubs, craft workshops and a very popular garden centre. Wentworth castle itself is now open to the public.
Worsborough Mill, also known as Worsborough Corn Mill and Worsborough Mill Farm is a complex of buildings including a Seventeenth Century water powered mill and a Nineteenth Century steam-powered mill in Worsborough. It is open to the public and takes its water from the River Dove.
